too cool for school...
Being that this is really the only public forum I have I thought that I should acknowledge how incredibly awesome my friends are. Not only did they come over on Sunday to star in my film project, they came over a second time after I taped over all their hard work. You guys rock!!!

this guy is so in tune...
The trip started out smoothly with drinks and snacks, bread and cheese, yum. Then when we were about to hit the Michigan, Ohio border we got that distinct odor of burning rubber/plastic. With the car trouble I’ve had thus far this summer we decided to pull over and check it out. After lifting the hood we looked and sniffed around and determined that the smell was not coming from my car. As soon as we were back on the road we both regretted that we did not document this little detour so about 30miles down the road we staged a reenactment.
Once we reached the University of Dayton we determined that we are glad that we do not attend classes there. We didn't fit in at all with the student body. I'm not really sure how to discribe them. Maybe Katherine can help me out here. Lucky for us this is was not the case of our fellow Mike Doughty fans. It turns out that Mike Doughty fans come in many different shapes. The most interesting to watch: Hippy Families. The hippy families provided almost as much entertainment as the concert itself. We were un-able to ascertain many of the children’s names but the youngest was named; Olivine (sp?).
The concert was great. Mike played many great songs and even asked for requests, however many of the requests he said "no" to. The highlight of the trip home was a stop at the Waffle House, and a greeting home by my friend the chipmunk. (Seriously, any suggestions on getting rid of the damn thing?)

help...
hey reader, do you know how to get rid of a chipmunk that has taken up residence in your house without harming it? It's going on a week with this thing living in my house and it is driving me crazy!

this bud’s for you…
When flipping through the channels I rarely stop off at espn. I have little use for sports. Or so I thought. It turns out that rock-paper-scissors is a sport. I know that espn does not a sport make, but a quick look in Webster’s verified it. In addition to the traditional definition "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature." I also found that the word sport can be defined as diversion or recreation which seems to include such games as rock-paper-scissors. I’m just glad , or saddened, I haven’t actually decided yet, that we live in world that would show an hour long tournament on national television and that it would be sponsored by Bud Light.

Yesterday while holding a ceramic kitty so I could dust under it I briefly contemplated dropping it.

nine to five...
I want to start out by saying how wonderful it is to have a job. I'm working at a retirement home in a couple different areas. I prefer to work in the office, even when that means working midnight to eight in the morning. This job is pretty boring except when it isn't. Basically you sit there, watch TV, read, and wait for something to happen. I don't ever want anything to happen. Something happening would most likely mean a problem with a resident and calling 911 and family members. You see this is an independent living place; residents take care of themselves and there is no nursing care on staff. Only me. So far nothing has happened while I've been on this shift, only once did I have to call for help when a woman had a stroke, but that was during the day. I say this like just because it was during the day it was fine. It wasn't. I don't think I've been so afraid. My legs would not stop shaking despite the fact that I was standing. Luckily the woman made a remarkable recovery and I was able to speak with her today in fact.
You learn tons doing this job, things like watch out for old women with walkers; they will try to mow you down with very little provocation. I've also learned that retirement homes are like Jr. High Schools, with all the crazy love triangles and gossip that goes along with them. Today I learned some old women really like Johnny Depp or at least Capt. Jack and have posters of him in their bedroom. I've also learned that I really don't want to get old. I don't want to have to leave myself notes reminding me to do the simplest tasks. I read the saddest note today, it was from a woman to herself it read something like this "Don't even think about skipping writing in your notebook. Write your address, your phone number, your name, your birthday." When I read this I wanted to cry, I didn't, but its something I will remember forever, or at least as long as I can.
