blond moment…

When getting gas yesterday I tried to use the pay at the pump feature, but the display said "card not read". I tried again, and again the display said "card not read". I knew it wasn't my card so I decided to try a different pump. When I got back in my car I realized that there were not any free pumps at that station, but the station across the street wasn’t busy at all, so I drove over. Waiting for the light, I saw the man in the car next to me trying to get my attention. He pointed to the side of my car and I knew exactly what was going on. I forgot to put the cap on my gas tank. Opps. I wasn’t sure what to do. I guess I was just hoping that when I turned the corner to get in to the other gas station it would still be there. See I don’t have the handy cord that connects the cap to the car, the cap was sitting precariously on my trunk. But, luckily I looked concerned, helpless enough that the man got out of his car at the light and replaced the cap. I did the "thank you" hand motion. And felt like a moron for the rest of the day. In fact I kinda still do.
